April 21st 2011 was the day when I left
Counter Strike; it’s been 1 year since. I started playing when in 2007 when I
was in school. I just wanted to share my experiences good points / bad points
since I left CS. Let’s go with the bad points first.
First and foremost, ADDICTION, it was a
different kind of addiction. It was not a kind of addiction in which I would
die if I didn’t play CS; it was a kind of addiction in which I had to be better
and better every day. I always felt each
and every second other gamers were getting better than me, so I had to keep up by
improving my gaming sense and shots . Second, money. Well I must say had to
spend a lot of money on it on expensive gaming gears and charges of gaming cafe. Third, time wasted. Hours and hours of gaming, no limits what so ever. I
could have done most things like maybe, studying or doing my assignments on
time.
Destruction of social life; well not
exactly, I was making a new social life which was more internet based. Social
life on the internet is also very important now-a-days. #truestory
After I completely left CS, some of the
habits still remained inside me like staying awake at night for upto 3am. And I
usually do my work; movie making, graphic designing, studying at night, so
staying up late was not a problem from there on. Concentration for hours was
one of the things which I had got from CS. But the most important good point
was UNLIMITED FUN; funny moments, funny comments, winning, losing, making new
friends from various other states (I even have friends from all around the
world). Simple game made in 2003 can give me more fun than most things in the world;
trust me that fun is totally worth it.
Joining ‘IGamerZ’ and creating my own movie
making company, 5ivetwo Movie Making would not have been possible if I had not
played CS. Till today I get friend request on facebook saying “dude, I am your
fan, I love your cs movies” NOTHING in this world can give me more pleasure
than reading this sentence in my inbox.
Final conclusions:
None, can’t make any conclusions because
there are always two sides of the same coin, good stuff comes along with bad
stuff. If you are still playing CS or you have stopped playing then you should
know that you are lucky that CS is/was a part of your life.
